
Bikaner, 11 October (Patrika English News ). The inauguration program of ‘PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana’ and ‘Pulses Self-Reliance Mission’ was telecast live from New Delhi today at the National Camel Research Centre, Bikaner.
In line with this important national initiative, a special Interaction Program was organized in the center premises by ICAR-National Research Center on Camel (NRCC), Bikaner under the direction of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi in which the representatives of Khichiya, Kesardesar, Janglu, Swaroopdesar, Gairsar, Molaniya, Bikaner districts were organised. About 250 farmers from villages like Soniasar, Sarupara, Napasar, Jalalsar etc. along with scientists, officers and employees of NRCC and ICAR institutes located in Bikaner participated enthusiastically.
On this occasion, Bikaner district MLA Jethanand Vyas, while addressing the farmers and cattle rearers as the chief guest in this special dialogue program organized at the Centre, said that we will have to remain connected to farming and animal husbandry business by keeping the rural culture alive, only then we will move rapidly towards making India self-reliant. He encouraged the farmers to get information about new technologies, training related to it and to take full advantage of the schemes for the welfare of farmers of the Government of India. He stressed the importance of regional agricultural development, cow, camel based livelihood and farmers’ participation.
Center Director Dr. Anil Kumar Poonia highlighted the work done by the institute for the upliftment of farmers and said that this institute will always work diligently for camel conservation and development and progress of farmers and animal husbandry.
After the program, agricultural resource (input) kits were distributed to the selected farmers under the Scheduled Caste sub-scheme of the Government of India at the Centre. Besides, activities like display of camel milk products, camel exhibition and dialogue session with farmers were also organised, in which farmers showed keen interest.
