
New Delhi, April 3: Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar hosted Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in New Delhi, emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on various sectors, including trade, industry, energy, fertilizers, connectivity, and mobility, as well as new opportunities in technology, innovation, and critical minerals. The meeting also addressed regional and global developments, particularly the ongoing conflicts in West Asia.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Jaishankar expressed his pleasure in hosting Manturov, stating, “We had an in-depth discussion on our bilateral cooperation, with a special focus on trade, industry, energy, fertilizers, connectivity, and mobility. We also talked about new opportunities in technology, innovation, and critical minerals, and exchanged views on regional and global events, including the ongoing conflict in West Asia.”
Earlier, Manturov met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where both leaders discussed the progress of india-Russia relations. During this meeting, Manturov provided updates on advancements in various areas of mutual cooperation, including trade and economic partnerships, fertilizers, connectivity, and people-to-people ties.
They also deliberated on specific steps to implement agreements made during the 23rd bilateral summit held in New Delhi in December 2025. The focus was on further strengthening the ‘special and privileged strategic partnership’ between India and Russia, particularly in trade, economy, investment, energy, and industrial cooperation.
Prime Minister Modi recalled President Putin’s visit to India for the 23rd annual India-Russia summit in December 2025, highlighting the ongoing efforts by both sides to implement the outcomes of the summit. In his post on ‘X’, Modi stated, “It was a pleasure to meet Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. We discussed our mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, fertilizers, connectivity, and people-to-people relations, and welcomed the continuous efforts being made by both sides to implement the outcomes of the 23rd annual India-Russia summit held during President Putin’s visit.”
