Migrant Rajasthanis should continuously contribute to the development of the state – Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma – Udaipur Kiran Hindi

Achievements of expatriate rajasthanis are a source of inspiration and guidance for the youth of the state.

Surat/Jaipur, 8 October (Patrika English News ). Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the achievements of migrant Rajasthanis are an important source of inspiration and guidance for the people of the state, especially the youth. He said that migrant Rajasthanis should contribute to the development of their motherland (Rajasthan) along with their workplace (Surat).

sharma was addressing the Pravasi Rajasthani meet organized in Surat, Gujarat on Wednesday. He said that the relationship between Gujarat and Rajasthan is not limited only to geographical proximity, but there is immense potential for economic cooperation as well as cultural and social cooperation between the two states in areas like gems and jewellery, pharma, textile industry and the proposed petrochemical complex in the state.

The Chief Minister said that Surat and Rajasthan are connected by a common spirit of entrepreneurship, creativity and patience. Surat is world famous for diamond cutting and synthetic textiles, while Rajasthan is known for colored stones, kundan, meenakari, textiles and gems. He said that we should together work towards making Rajasthan the ‘Gems and Jewelery Hub’ of the world.

Sharma invited the migrant Rajasthanis in large numbers to participate in the Pravasi Rajasthani Day to be organized in Jaipur on 10th December. He said that the big industrialists of the country include expatriate Rajasthanis, which is a symbol of our pride. He said that on the occasion of Pravasi Rajasthani Day, Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Award will be given, under which non-resident Rajasthanis who have made outstanding contributions in fields like science, business, art, sports, literature, cinema, music and social service will be honored.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is going to start a petrochemical refinery in the state in December. Along with this, our government will provide all possible support to investors in setting up Global Capability Centers and Data Centers. He invited entrepreneurs and investors to invest in sectors like IT, Pharma, Textile, Gems and Jewellery, Energy, Petrochemical, Tourism and Mining. He said that the state government has created an institutional framework to strengthen relations with non-resident Rajasthanis. Presently 26 chapters of Rajasthan Foundation are active in the country and abroad. These chapters are encouraging meaningful dialogue, cooperation and cultural exchange with the expatriate Rajasthani community.

Sharma said that the state government is also going to set up a dedicated department with the aim of further strengthening the connect with the diaspora Rajasthanis. The objective of this initiative is to make Rajasthan’s global diaspora a partner in the development of the state and ensure their active participation in building ‘Developed Rajasthan 2047’. He said that Rajasthan is moving towards becoming a 350 billion dollar economy by 2030. Due to the efforts of the state government, Rajasthan has become one of the most investment-friendly and progressive states of the country. He said that out of the Rs 35 lakh crore MoU signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, projects worth Rs 7 lakh crore have come on the ground.

Referring to the investment-friendly policies of the state, the Chief Minister said that the government has implemented and amended more than 20 new policies, which have created a progressive business ecosystem. He said that under Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS) 2024, subsidy worth more than Rs 1400 crore has been given to investors in the last one and a half year, which is opening new investment opportunities. He said that these initiatives have not only made it easier than ever to set up industries and invest in Rajasthan, but have also opened many new doors for innovation, economic growth and job creation.

Sharma said the migrant Rajasthani community has made significant contributions in areas like water conservation and groundwater recharge. He called upon the NRI Rajasthanis to contribute to the state government schemes like Panchayat Samiti Nandishala Jan Sahayata Yojana, Bhamashah Yojana, Gyan Sankalp Portal and initiatives like naming of government colleges, hospitals and schools. He said that with your active participation and cooperation, we can bring changes in many areas of the state and strengthen the infrastructure.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said that our government has created an investor-friendly environment in Rajasthan and opened new opportunities for the industry. Rajasthan is now emerging as one of the top investment destinations in India due to its huge potential of solar and wind energy, strong infrastructure and progressive policies.

Chief Minister Sharma honored the expatriate Rajasthanis who have made significant contributions in the social sector in the Overseas Rajasthani Meet organized in Surat. He said that this honor is a symbol of the collective strength of the migrant Rajasthani community, the spirit of service and the rich heritage of Rajasthan. Additionally, he also released the brochure of Rajasthan Foundation, which includes details of the foundation’s objectives, structure and various chapters operating in the country and abroad. This brochure has been prepared as a guide for overseas Rajasthanis to stay connected to their roots and contribute to the development of the state. He called upon the overseas Rajasthanis to participate in the investment opportunities available in Rajasthan and contribute to building a developed Rajasthan.

On this occasion, MLA Pushpendra Singh, Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit, Additional Chief Secretary of Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Department Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary of Industry and Commerce Department Alok Gupta, Chairman of CII Southern Regional Council Hetul Mehta and senior officials of the state government were present. A large number of members of the expatriate Rajasthani community including Shyam Rathi, President of Rajasthan Foundation Surat Chapter also participated in the program.

Pravasi Rajasthani Day will be celebrated in Jaipur on 10th December. This is an important initiative of the Government of Rajasthan which aims to strengthen engagement with its global diaspora community. Organized under the leadership of the Department of Industries and Rajasthan Foundation, the event brings together diaspora Rajasthanis and opens new avenues of collaboration, investment and cultural engagement with the state government.
