Jodhpur, October 13 (Udaipur Kiran News). Keeping in mind Diwali, Chhath Puja and other festivals, special arrangements are being made by the Railways for passenger convenience.
DRM Anurag Tripathi said that in view of the extra passenger load in the trains in view of the festivals, while festival special trains are being operated for various destinations, additional coaches of different categories have been added in the major trains. Keeping in mind the smooth and safe travel of passengers on the occasion of festival, special arrangements are being made by the Railway Administration to control additional passenger traffic at major stations. During this period, not only adequate number of railway staff is being deployed at the railway stations, but they are also being continuously monitored to ensure that general tickets are easily available on time for traveling in trains and instructions have been given to open additional ticket counters if necessary.
Railway staff is making passengers aware about booking unreserved tickets through UTS app. Arrangements for online payment have also been made at the ticket counter for quick ticket purchase so that there is no problem with change. Apart from this, continuous announcements are being made to give proper information to the passengers about the movement of their train and help booths are also being set up.
Special arrangements for cleanliness and safety
While continuous patrolling is being done by RPF and GRP for security arrangements at all the major stations including Jodhpur, Raikabag, Bhagat Ki Kothi during the festival, adequate number of sweepers have been appointed for better cleanliness at the stations.
In view of the shortage of space due to the ongoing redevelopment work at Jodhpur Railway Station, the Railway Administration appealed to the passengers for cooperation and said that they should not create unnecessary crowd at the Railway Station and provide proper cooperation in the arrangements being made by the Railways on the occasion of the festival.
