A low-pressure trough extending from Cooch Behar to the Odisha coast is expected to trigger showers. All districts of North Bengal are likely to see light to moderate rain until Tuesday, with heavy rainfall predicted in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar from Friday to Sunday.

In South Bengal, including Kolkata, moderate rainfall is expected on Friday, with showers intensifying on Sunday and Monday. Rainfall is also likely to continue on Tuesday, coinciding with Annapurna and Vishwakarma Puja, when eight districts in South Bengal may record light to moderate rain. Coastal districts could see heavier downpours.

Despite rainfall, humidity levels are expected to remain high. On Friday, Kolkata’s maximum temperature is forecast at 32°C and minimum at 27°C, compared with Thursday’s 34.2°C maximum and 28.6°C minimum. Humidity ranged between 65% and 88%.

Weather experts said daytime temperature may drop by about 2°C and nighttime temperature by up to 1.5°C on Friday. However, residents are unlikely to get relief from sultry conditions.
