Rajasthan created history in Deepotsav with school beautification and rejuvenation campaign.

Jaipur, 23 October (Patrika English News ). Under the innovative initiative of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the school beautification and rejuvenation campaign conducted in all the government schools of Rajasthan has added a historic dimension this year. Painting and beautification work has been completed in 91.7 percent government schools of the state and during the Diwali festival, all the schools were illuminated with uniform colors and lighting for the first time.

The objective of this campaign was to complete the painting work in all the government schools of the state before Diwali. For this, a color scheme (color code) was determined for all government higher secondary schools and government upper primary and primary schools and clear guidelines and action plans were issued under the direction of the Government Secretary and under the guidance of the Director. To implement the campaign in mission mode, a control room was set up by the Building Section of the Directorate. This work was completed timely and effectively through intensive monitoring, daily progress review and clear accountability. This year, a new initiative was also added to the campaign—the historic tradition of decorating all the government schools of Rajasthan with lights during Deepotsav was started. Lighting arrangements were started in schools across the state from 18th October, which continued till the entire festival of lights (23rd October). During this period, school campuses remained shining – such a scene was seen for the first time in the education history of the state. Schools no longer became just centers of education but also symbols of celebration and community pride.

In this historic achievement, Balotra and Bharatpur districts have performed excellently by achieving 100% target. In other districts, the work is in the final stages and in the remaining schools, painting and lighting work will be completed by November 5. This campaign has brought about unprecedented changes in the physical structure of schools as well as strengthened the confidence and positive attitude towards education in the community. According to the color scheme, Coral Room (K243) light color and Copper (0587) dark color have been used in primary and upper primary schools. Whereas in higher secondary schools, Coral Beach (7969) light color and Copper (0587) dark color have been prescribed. This uniform color combination has given a clean, attractive and dignified identity to the schools.
