Shiv MLA Denies Charges, Claims Political Conspiracy

Udaipur, April 10: Ravindra Singh Bhati, the Shiv MLA from Barmer, appeared in Udaipur Court on Friday, where he categorically dismissed the allegations against him related to a student rights movement during the COVID-19 pandemic, labeling it a political conspiracy. Surrounded by a large number of supporters in the court premises, Bhati stated that cases were filed against him and other youth to suppress the voices of students.

Dispute Originating from Assembly Siege
In a conversation with the media, Bhati explained that during the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools and colleges were closed, rural students lacked the resources for online education, yet full fees were being collected from them. In protest, he led movements across the state and besieged the assembly to submit a memorandum to the administration. He asserted that this was a completely democratic movement that had been misrepresented.

Awaiting Next Hearing on Section 144 Violation Case
According to Bhati’s lawyer, Bhupendra Singh Chundawat, both parties presented their arguments in court. The case, which involves a violation of Section 144 filed in 2021, is expected to see a decision in the next hearing. Bhati expressed complete faith in the judiciary, stating that he would surely receive justice.

“Differences in Politics, Unity in Society”
Responding to ongoing controversies on social media and the circulation of old videos, Bhati maintained a measured stance, stating that differences in politics are natural, but there should be no discord in society. He emphasized love, harmony, and brotherhood as the greatest strengths of society and stressed the importance of maintaining these values.

Position on Refinery and Development
Regarding the proposed refinery in Barmer, Bhati asserted that local residents should directly benefit from it. He referred to Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Balotra as his family, emphasizing the need for regional development and expressing hope that the project would materialize soon.

Assurance to Raise Demand for High Court Bench
In response to lawyers urging the demand for a High Court bench, Bhati assured that he would raise this issue vigorously at both state and central levels. He also highlighted his role in the assembly’s question and reference committee as a means to effectively address public interest issues.
