Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Additional Superintendent of SMS Hospital, said that on this festival of lights, which will run for five days from October 19 to 23, apart from general medicine, surgery and ortho, doctors associated with eye, skin and plastic surgery departments will also be deployed in emergency. These doctors are on duty 24 hours a day in three slots, round the clock.
He told that on Diwali, there is a risk of burns, eye injuries and elderly people, asthma patients and heart disease patients who have difficulty in breathing due to firecrackers. More patients related to this come. Keeping such circumstances in mind, this time more doctors and nursing staff have been deployed than usual.
There will be continuous state holidays from 19th October. During this period, OPD in the hospital will operate for a very short period of time. Therefore, most of the burden of serious and less serious patients falls on emergency only. Incharge of Trauma Center, Dr. B.L. Yadav said- This time, arrangements have been made to provide treatment to burn and other case patients (other than trauma cases) coming to the trauma center also. The cases of minor diseases coming here will definitely be given treatment. If a major case comes, treatment will be arranged by calling an on-call doctor and also by calling doctors from other departments including neurosurgery. So that the patient does not have to suffer.
