
Bikaner, 19 October (Udaipur Kiran News). On the occasion of Diwali, Urdu ramayana was read at Marudhar Heritage on Sunday under the joint aegis of Tourism Writers Association and Mehfile Adab. In which the Urdu Ramayana written by Maulvi Badshah Hussain Khan Rana Lucknowi was read by poets Zakir Adeeb and Asad Ali Asad.
The audience listened to every verse of Urdu Ramayana with great attention and appreciated it a lot. Dr. Zia Ul Hasan Qadri told that in 1935, Banaras Hindu University had organized an all India level competition for writing Urdu poems on Ramayana on the occasion of Tulsidas Jayanti. At that time Maulvi Badshah Hussain Khan Rana Lucknowi used to teach Urdu and Persian in Bikaner. At the behest of one of his Kashmiri Pandit disciples, who was an officer in the jail, he composed the entire Ramcharit Manas in the form of Urdu poetry, which was awarded a gold medal by Banaras University. At that time Maharaja Ganga Singh had included it in the school curriculum. For the last several years, people of the Muslim community have been organizing events on the occasion of Deepotsav in the city to maintain communal harmony.
Many dignitaries including former mayor Maqsood Ahmed were present in the event.
