
Jaipur, 21 October (Udaipur Kiran News). Voting is going to be held on November 11 for the by-election on Anta assembly seat of Baran district. With this in mind, the candidates have now entered the electoral battle. The nomination deadline ended on Tuesday. 21 candidates have filed nomination papers from Anta seat in the by-election. These candidates have submitted 32 forms. Apart from BJP and Congress, independent contenders have also put their efforts in this election.
BJP has fielded its grassroots worker Morpal Suman, the current head of Baran, while Congress has once again given ticket to its veteran leader and former minister Pramod Jain Bhaya from the same seat. While young leader Naresh Meena, once associated with Congress, has staked claim on this seat, Rampal Meghwal, former MLA of Baran Atru from BJP, has made the contest more interesting by filing his nomination at the last time of nomination on Tuesday. There has been competition on this seat between main parties like BJP and Congress, but this time the rebels and independents have spoiled the equation of this seat.
While Naresh Meena can influence the Meena vote bank and youth, Rampal Meghwal, who comes from SC category, can also influence the SC and BJP vote bank. In such a situation, both the major parties will have to make their calculations afresh. However, all the nominations received by the Returning Officer will be scrutinized on 23 October, after which the list of candidates found correct will be released. After that the time for withdrawal of nominations has been kept till 27th October. Meanwhile, there will be a round of canvassing for independent candidates to withdraw their nominations. On the evening of 27th October, the names of all the contenders contesting in Anta will be revealed and with the voting on 11th November, the fate of the candidates will also be decided in the EVM machines. The results of Anta by-election will be declared on 14th November.
It is noteworthy that there are total 2 lakh 27 thousand 563 voters of this seat in Anta Assembly. Out of which 1 lakh 16 thousand 405 are male voters and 1 lakh 11 thousand 154 are female voters. Besides, 4 third gender voters are also included. A total of 268 polling booths have been made in the district. Where voters will be able to cast their vote.
