Officials clarified that this is not a traditional examination, but a concept and skill-based evaluation aimed at assessing students’ understanding of fundamental concepts and their ability to apply them in real-life situations — rather than rote memorization.

According to the Directorate of Public Instruction, the entire process is being carried out by a third-party agency to ensure fairness and credibility. The Directorate is being supported by the central government’s company, EdCIL India Ltd., in implementing this assessment.

The key objective of this initiative is to identify each student’s current learning level and detect learning gaps or weaknesses. It seeks to evaluate how much students have actually learned and understood from their subjects.

A senior official from the Directorate stated that the assessment’s most significant feature is that it won’t just identify problems — it will also lead to personalized remedial teaching materials and academic support for students based on the results. This approach is expected to strengthen the overall teaching-learning process and ensure that every student receives tailored educational assistance.

The official further added that the initiative will help in data-driven policy-making, allowing educators to pinpoint areas that require improvement in academic programs. Conducted under the EQUIP-LEP (Learning Enhancement Program), this assessment is expected to bring a positive transformation to the educational landscape of Madhya Pradesh.
