MP’s Sansad Khel Mahotsav Begins in Vidisha Today

Vidisha, October 30 (Patrika English News ): The grand inauguration of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav will take place today (Thursday) in Vidisha under the guidance of Union Agriculture Minister and local MP Shivraj Singh Chouhan. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev will be present as special guests.

The Sansad Khel Mahotsav is being organized at the District Sports Complex (Stadium) in Vidisha and will continue for two months. The closing ceremony will be held on December 25 in Raisen district. The festival will feature a range of sports competitions from the gram panchayat to the parliamentary constituency level, including tug of war, musical chair, and lemon race. At the constituency level, cricket, kabaddi, and tennis ball cricket tournaments will also be organized.

Competitions will take place across the eight assembly constituencies under the Vidisha parliamentary area, and the top three winning teams will be awarded prizes. To promote awareness and enthusiasm for sports, a torch rally will also be conducted across the entire constituency.

At the local level, four major sports events will be held — football in Vidisha, wrestling in Khategaon, kho-kho in Ichhawar, and hockey in Mandideep.

Over 37,000 players registered

A total of 37,038 players from all eight assembly constituencies of the Vidisha parliamentary region have registered for participation, reflecting a strong interest among youth towards sports. The registration numbers by assembly are as follows: Bhojpur (3,327), Sanchi (3,422), Silvani (4,407), Basoda (2,061), Budhni (6,718), Ichhawar (5,599), Khategaon (5,674), and Vidisha (5,652).

Torch relays will be organized across all assembly constituencies on October 31 and November 1. At the gram panchayat and urban body levels, tug of war, musical chair, and lemon race events will be held between November 2 and 19.

Mandal-level competitions will take place between November 20 and 30, assembly-level games from December 5 to 12, and parliamentary-level events between December 15 and 25. Local-level sports including hockey, kho-kho, football, and wrestling will also be held during November 2–19.

Attractive prizes for winners

The top three winners of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav will receive attractive cash prizes. For kabaddi and tennis ball cricket tournaments, the assembly-level winners will receive ₹1.5 lakh, ₹1 lakh, and ₹50,000 for the first, second, and third positions respectively. At the parliamentary level, the first, second, and third prize winners will be awarded ₹2.5 lakh, ₹2 lakh, and ₹1.5 lakh respectively.
