
Ballia, March 24: In a significant operation, police in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, arrested three notorious criminals during an encounter. Each of these individuals had a bounty of ₹25,000 on their heads. During the encounter, two of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were promptly taken to the district hospital for treatment.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Kripa Shankar, a police team was on patrol in the Bairia police station area on Tuesday night when they received a tip-off about the presence of three wanted criminals on the road leading south from Budhanchak towards Daya Chapra Nauranga. Acting swiftly on the information, the police team surrounded the area.
Upon noticing the police, the criminals attempted to flee and opened fire on the officers. In self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring two of the suspects. The police managed to apprehend them, along with a third accomplice at the scene.
During interrogation, the injured suspects identified themselves as Chandan and Raghav Mishra. The police recovered stolen gold and silver jewelry, along with a motorcycle, believed to be linked to recent robbery incidents.
Following the incident, additional police forces arrived at the scene to reinforce security in the area. Officials confirmed that all three arrested criminals were wanted in the local police jurisdiction and had been evading capture for an extended period.
Currently, the injured suspects are receiving treatment at the district hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable. The police have registered cases against the trio under relevant sections of the law and have initiated legal proceedings. This successful operation has provided a sense of relief to the police department, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
